Healthier, better-balanced trees

Tree pruning that promotes strong growth and a balanced, well-kept look.

Proper pruning is a healthy practice for every tree and shrub. It encourages good growth patterns and strong, sturdy limbs, and over the long run it controls how a tree grows and how big it gets.

Tree Pruning context for Point Pleasant Tree Service

Fairly straightforward pruning makes a tree look better. Regular pruning makes it look maintained.

A well-maintained tree has a nice balance to it, good on the eye and good for the tree. We prune to open the canopy, remove crossing or competing limbs, give structures and walkways clearance and bring the overall shape back into proportion.

Every type of tree has its own ideal pruning window and its own limits on how much can be removed at once. Part of the visit is telling you what your specific trees can handle and when.

Pruning pairs naturally with deadwooding and annual maintenance.

Most pruning visits also remove dead and hazardous wood while we are in the tree. Customers with several mature trees often move to a yearly maintenance schedule so each tree is looked at on a predictable cycle instead of only after a problem appears.

Send a photo of the whole tree and tell us what you want: more light, clearance from the roof, a cleaner shape or simply a healthier tree. We will price the work around that goal.

FAQ

Pruning questions before you call

When is the best time to prune my trees?

It depends on the species. Many trees respond best to dormant-season pruning, while others are better handled after leaf-out. We will tell you what is right for your trees when we look at them.

Can you prune large, mature trees without damaging them?

Yes. We climb rather than top, remove only what the tree can handle in one season and make proper cuts so wounds close cleanly.
